I inherited this cabinet from my grandfather. After he passed away nobody wanted it. Everybody agreed that throwing it away would be a waste, but on the other hand no body wanted to incorporate it in their interior. This concept can also be applied with furniture that both partners DO want to have after for instance a divorce. Fighting or quarrelling about who gets the cabinet is no longer necessary; Each gets one half. 

By sawing the cabinet in half and applying a new side panel both the characteristic cross section is emphasized as well as a new contemporary layer added. Despite the contrast in both material and color a new whole has emerged in which old and new have been fused.
