The lamp 'Protect Me' consists of barbed wire and antique lace. The combination of the barbed wire being tough, hard and sharp and the lace being sophisticated and soft make up a strong contrast.The lace is impregnated with artificial resin in order to give it a constructional strength and function. The barbed wire and the lace have a symbiotic relation. On the one hand the barbed wire forms the basic shape or mould to wrap the lace around. On the other hand the lace holds together the barbed wire that otherwise would collapse. Together they now form an inseparable entity, when the lamp is turned on the wire and the lace produce a very nice translucent shine.
